FAKE. FRAUDULENT... SCAM!

I placed an order, paid with paypal. Received an email confirmation. It listed Donald puzzle as seller. Then nothing. I sent 2 emails requesting tracking, no response. I called their phone #, left 2 voice messages, no response. I contacted PayPal, $ was paid to Doan Thi Thanh Nga. He gave them tracking. I contacted the ship carrier, they said it was delivered. Called PayPal and said I didn't get it. They refunded my $70. A week later paypal reversed their decision and charged me again cuz seller provided proof of delivery. Called shipper they refused to give me delivery address for privacy reasons but did verify it was not delivered to my address. THIS SELLER WILL TAKE YOUR $ THEN SHIP SOMETHING (MAYBE AN EMPTY ENVELOPE?)TO AN ADDRESS NEAR YOU, PROVIDE TRACKING WITH PROOF OF DELIVERY TO YOUR BANK OR PAYPAL. SHIPPING COMPANY WILL NOT DISCLOSE ADDRESS OF WHERE THEY DELIVERED IT TO FOR PRIVACY REASONS! FO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!

I Do not recommend

I advice everyone to stay away from SmartHomes as they uses UkTenantData for checking applications. I had the worst ever experience with them, and SmarHomes was just helpless in this situation.

I have bought Insteon Products from…

I have bought Insteon Products from Smarthome for over 10 years. The product and support is as advertised. Insteon is a great product though there are failures after about 5-8 years depending on the product. That is electronics.

Buyer Beware of SmartHome.com Irvine CA

Buyer Beware of SmartHome.com Irvine CA!!
This company is terrible. A few years ago I purchased a wireless home security system from SmartHome.com (I spent nearly $1,000). When I purchased the system they assured me they would support the product for at least 10 years (full technical support and parts if I want to expand the system, the system is very complex). The Visonic’s system has been very solid all the time I have used it but I am now experiencing a technical problem. SmartHome.com now tells me they no longer sell the system so of course they have no interest in supporting the system and no longer provide technical support for the system!!! The 1st support person at SmartHome lied to me and told me his management would contact me by the end of the day and probably refund my money. This sounded to good to be true and sure enough no word from SmartHome other than a link to a survey. The 2nd support person at SmartHome (supposedly a supervisor) said SmartHome Customer Care would call me the next day. Of course I did not receive a call. It seems like a systematic process were SmartHome management has trained their support people to tell you anything to get you off the phone!! SmartHome was glad to take my money and lie to me about support when I purchased the product but now that I need some technical support they could not care less!! I contacted the manufacturer and they referred me back to the company that sold me the system. When I explained the dilemma I am in Visonic’s simply said they are not setup to provide technical support, this is what the retail organization are setup to do. Apparently there is some money allotted to the retailers from the manufacturer so the retail outlet can provide support. So I am now stuck with an inoperative expensive security system and SmartHome.com is reneging on their original commitment to provide technical support.

Customer support is horible

Stay away from this company. I placed an order with them on the 6th, After not hearing anything on the 10th, I called them several times asking about my order. The first representative said she would check and get back to me, the second said the order was being shipped directly from the manufacturer. She also said she would check and get back to me. I then took it upon myself to contact the manufacture who told me it had not shipped nor would it be shipped because one of the items had been discontinued. I then contacted Smarthome.com and asked them to cancel the order and I was told it would take until the end of the week for my money to be returned. In this day in age it doesn't take a week for things to happen. When I order something it shows up on my account immediately and I know it can go back just as easily. It doesn't take a week unless someone desires to do nothing with it for a week. If you want good customer support, go to Crutchfields which is what I ended up doing and should have done in the first place.

I HATE THIS COMPANY!

I ordered a product December 9 to be shipped in 2 days. THEY SAID IT WAS IN STOCK! 7 days later when I called to check they said it was on backorder not to ship until the end of January! They NEVER proactively contacted me---and now the product isn't available anywhere. Thanks for ruining Christmas and not even bothering to tell me. TERRIBLE service, TERRIBLE customer relationship. Do not every order from them---they will screw you over and not even tell you!!! I HATE THIS COMPANY

I price shopped for the installation and purchase of...

I price shopped for the installation and purchase of smart home sensors and realized this market is extremely overpriced and inflated. Installers want a starting price of $10,000. I found smarthome.com and discovered the real price of the equipment. They have automatic light sensors, drape controls, temperature sensors, everything you need to automate your home for significantly less than when the smart home installation companes wanted to charge me. Is Smarthome a scam or a legit company?

A:

Absolutely a scam. They will take ur $ then ship something to an address NEAR YOU BUT NOT TO YOU with tracking. (Probably an empty envelope to a random address) When u dispute the charge. They provide your bank or PayPal w proof of delivery. Shipping carrier cannot disclose delivery address to you or your bank/PayPal for privacy reasons.

How easy is it to get a hold of customer service at Smarthome?

A:

Impossible. They will not respond to emails. They will not provide tracking to you, but will provide it to your bank/PayPal when you open a case. If you call, it goes to Voicemail and they will never call you back.
